Rigby Acres Homestead is a small, family-run farm dedicated to raising healthy chickens, growing seasonal gardens, and providing farm fresh eggs with care and integrity. Our hens are thoughtfully raised and well cared for, producing quality eggs you can trust. From our farm to your home, we proudly offer carefully packaged egg shipping so our customers can enjoy the taste of farm-fresh no matter the distance. We also sell fertilized eggs for hatching anywhere in the US or internationally.

We are dedicated to make sure that our birds meet or exceed the American Poultry Association (APA) Standards of perfection regarding size, weight, plumage color/pattern, and comb shape. Our chickens are high energy, alert, and free from diseases. They exhibit strong, bright eyes and glossy plumage. For our layers, this means consistent, high volume production (e.g.,>80% laying rate) and, for breeders, it means "breeding true" (producing offspring that resemble parents.)
Sustainability Commitment
It is our commitment to raising chickens on a homestead by managing a flock of chickens in a way that respects the environment, supports the birds' natural well-being, and ensures the long-term viability of the farm's resources, rather than treating it as a hobby. It involves creating a closed-loop system where chicken manure acts as fertilizer, food scraps reduce waste, and the chickens themselves provide natural pest control.
Certifications
We are committed to ethical breeding practices and egg production. We participate in the National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP). A voluntary federal-state cooperative program that verifies poultry flocks, hatcheries, and dealers are free from specific, dangerous diseases like Salmonella pullorum-typhoid and Avian Influenza. It ensures compliance with health standards for interstate/international shipment, requiring, inspections, biosecurity, and testing.
